Major Profile:

This major aims to cultivate high-quality engineering talents with all-round moral, intellectual, physical development, with good scientific literacy, having theoretical foundation and professional skills of Electronic Science and Technology, having the ability to undertake the design of electronic systems, information, product maintenance, fault detection, production management in related fields such as electronics and information.  

Training Objectives:

The students mainly study the basic theory and basic knowledge of Electronic Science and Technology, receive the basic training about electronic systems, information engineering, automatic control, possess the basic ability of electronic system design, maintenance of electronic products, circuit fault detection, production management. The graduates should acquire the following knowledge, abilities and qualities: 1. to obtain a good foundation of natural sciences and social sciences and master a foreign language; 2. to master the basic theory of technology needed in the field of Electronic Science and Technology; 3. to have the ability of analyzing and designing small electronic systems, the ability of computer-aided design and engineering practice; 4. to have certain capabilities of electronic system maintenance and production management; 5. to learn cutting-edge theories and developments in the professional field; 6. to master the basic methods of document retrieval and data inquiry, have strong abilities of self-learning and continuous learning; 7. to have high quality of science and culture, possess good health, have ideal psychological quality, excellent characters, work ethic and proactive professionalism.

Major Features:

The majors are mainly to acquire the basic knowledge of circuit and master the information processing methods by using computer. First, they should have solid knowledge of mathematics, especially in electrical aspects; to learn some courses such as Circuit, Electronics, Signals and Systems, Computer Control Theory, Communication Theory and other basic courses. Learning electronic information engineering needs to design, to connect some circuits and do experiments combing with the computer by students themselves. The students will connect the circuit of a sensor, set a small computer communication systems, visit some electronic and information-processing equipments in some big companies, understand how the signals of the cell phone and the cable are transmitted, and participate in large engineering design under the guidance of teachers. Learning electronic information engineering needs to prefer to thinking and fining out the problems. Electronic information industry is an emerging high-tech industry, and is known as a sunrise industry. According to an analysis made by Ministry of Information Industry, the 12th Five-Year Plan period is the critical developmental period of China's electronic information industry. Electronic information industry is expected to develop faster than two times of the speed of economic growth with wide prospects. The focus of the future development is electronic information product manufacturing industry, software industry and integrated circuit industries; New communication services such as data communication, multimedia, Internet, telephone information services, SMS and other services will also be expanded rapidly; It is worth noting that cultural and scientific industries, such as online games, etc. Currently, among the talent demands of information technology support, personnel to exclude technical failure, equipment and customer service, hardware and software installation and configuration updates and system operation, monitoring and maintenance are in short supply.
